A Multi-Hospital Health System experienced a software integrity issue which required validation of a perpetual inventory at a regional warehouse. A method for conducting inventory, with a minimum of prep time, for the purpose of updating the perpetual inventory with a no down time was needed.

Data Cleansing Services

Data Cleansing Services During our 25 plus years conducting inventories for healthcare facilities HISI has gained the knowledge necessary to allow it to offer Item Master Data Cleansing Services. Working with healthcare item masters on a daily basis, HISI is able to identify common problem areas, some of the most common being:
  • Duplicate entries
  • Zero prices
  • Inconsistent item descriptions
  • Old manufacturer reorder numbers

These are just some of the possible issues with item master files. HISI will evaluate your item master to determine the scope of work needed to complete the project.

The customer's item master is run through a series of processes to accomplish the following:
  • Manufacturer Standardization
  • Product Reorder Number Standardization
  • Product Descriptive field(s) Standardization
  • Price, UOM and UOP fields are verified for proper conversion and relational data structure
  • Issues such as duplication and zero pricing are identified and categorized

Once HISI has processed the item file and identified all discrepancy items we work with the client to resolve those issues. Once the cleansing process is completed HISI will return the data in a pre-determined format for upload by the client's in-house IT personnel. The client may also choose to work with HISI's partner firm Chateaux Software to accomplish the upstream integration.
