Grant Disbursement Compliance Case Study A large research facility needed to have a third party audit of equipment purchased and/or leased using US government grants. The audit was to maintain compliance with policies governing such grants.
THE CHALLENGE
Establish an ongoing record of all equipment either purchased and/or leased using grants provided by the government. Provide a way to track movement of said items through the facility to provide audit documentation upon request.
THE APPROACH
Using purchase and lease histories obtained from facility HISI established a base line inventory of all grant items. Once the base line inventory was in place HISI conducted an inventory to verify the existence and location of grant items. HISI also worked with facility representatives to research and document items not located during the inventory phase of the project.

Protocols were implemented to allow for easy tracking and updating of equipment for the facility.
THE RESULT
The facility is secure in the knowledge that they can provide proof of compliance with the policies and procedures governing the use of grants for equipment procurement should an official audit take place.
